Sonoma Raceway Double Header
Chris Evans Inc. (CEI) Entries Dominate at Sonoma Raceway Trans Am Weekend Cole Moore Charges to Saturday TA Cup Victory • Phil Fogg Jr. Claims First Series Win on Sunday • New Lap Records Set • Successful Camry Debut for John Moore
Sonoma, CA (April 28, 2026) — Chris Evans Inc. (CEI) delivered a standout performance during the Trans Am Series by Pirelli doubleheader at Sonoma Raceway, with multiple class wins, podium finishes, and record-setting pace across the weekend of April 25-26, 2026.
On Saturday, Cole Moore started near the back in the No. 27 JM Environmental / JM Racing Ford Mustang (a CEI-built car) after a fuel-related issue forced a last-minute car swap. Moore methodically charged through the TA Cup field, engaging in a thrilling battle with veteran Jim Guthrie. In the closing laps, he executed a bold inside pass at Turn 11 to secure the TA Cup class victory.
His father, John Moore, made the successful debut of the new CEI-built No. 92 Central Welding Toyota Camry powered by TRD, finishing a strong 3rd in TA Cup.
On Sunday, Cole Moore and Phil Fogg Jr. went blow-for-blow on lap times early in the race, trading fast laps while battling at the front of the TA Cup class. Moore, in the No. 27 JM Environmental Ford Mustang, turned a blistering 1:30.466 — among the fastest of the weekend — while Fogg matched the pace in the No. 67 Chris Evans Race Cars Ford Mustang. Their intense duel ended when Moore suffered an ignition box failure while leading the class. Fogg capitalized on the chaos, inherited the lead, and cruised to a dominant first career Trans Am victory in just his second series start, winning by more than 57 seconds.
“Very happy to get my first TAC win on Sunday, after a frustrating Saturday,” said Phil Fogg Jr. “Car was great and track conditions were ideal. Appreciate all of the team’s efforts to get the car ready and optimal for Sunday’s race.”
CEI-prepared Mustangs and the new Toyota Camry also turned competitive and record-setting lap times throughout practice, qualifying, and race sessions, demonstrating exceptional speed and preparation quality on the challenging Sonoma road course.
“CEI is proud of the results this weekend,” said a team spokesperson. “Cole’s come-from-behind win on Saturday, the wheel-to-wheel battle with Phil on Sunday, and the strong debut of the new Camry for John highlight the performance and reliability of our builds. It was a true family effort with the Moores, and we’re thrilled to see our partners succeeding at this level.”
The weekend marked another successful chapter for Chris Evans Inc. in the Trans Am Series, reinforcing the company’s reputation for building high-performance race cars that compete at the front of the field.
