Chris Evans Inc. Celebrates Strong Road Atlanta Debut for TA Cup Race Cars in Trans Am Series
Chris Evans Inc. (CEI), the premier builder of high-performance tube-frame race cars, proudly announces a successful and competitive debut at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta during the recent Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli event (March 13-15, 2026). The company's purpose-built TA Cup (TAC) class cars demonstrated blistering speed, reliability, and driver appeal in their first major national championship appearance at this historic 2.54-mile road course.
Key highlights from the Road Atlanta weekend include:
Cole Moore piloting the No. 32 Chris Evans Race Cars / JM Environmental Ford Mustang delivered a commanding performance in the TA Cup Challenge, battling fiercely for the lead and securing a strong second-place finish behind winner Jim Guthrie. Moore's drive highlighted the car's exceptional handling and straight-line speed.
Phil Fogg, Jr. in the No. 67 Chris Evans Race Cars Ford Mustang was deeply involved in the lead battle throughout the race, showcasing the competitive edge of the CEI platform before contact impacted his final result.
Additional CEI-built entries, including strong qualifying and test session performances, underscored the cars' readiness for the Trans Am national stage.
Cole Moore reflected on the dramatic weekend:
“Start to finish it was an eventful weekend. From learning this track at an accelerated pace, to a flat tire that sent me into the tire barrier, the lead-up to the race was anything but smooth. Somehow we bounced back and put the car on pole the next day.
Race day had the same kind of energy. As the engines fired, raindrops started falling on the windshield. I got a great start and managed to open up a solid gap over second place early.
Around lap 10 I started saving tire, which allowed Guthrie to sneak by quicker than expected. We regrouped, fought back, retook the lead, and built another gap.
With seven laps to go the car started running out of fuel. We threw a last-lap hail mary but came up just half a car short at the line.
P2 after a wild weekend.
I’m incredibly thankful to Chris Evans for bringing me out here and giving me the opportunity to drive this car, and for all the support from my family — my mom and dad — and the entire Jefferson team as well. It takes a lot of people behind the scenes to make weekends like this possible and I’m grateful for every one of them.”
"Road Atlanta has always been a benchmark track, and seeing our TA Cup cars perform so competitively in their debut here is incredibly rewarding," said Chris Evans, owner of Chris Evans Inc. and a two-time Western Championship title winner. "These cars are designed to be pure, fast, and fun—visceral drivers' machines that deliver winning performance while remaining reliable and accessible. The on-track results from drivers like Cole Moore and Phil Fogg, Jr. validate the hard work our team has put into developing this platform for the TA Cup class."
Introduced as a new spec-like category for 2025-2026, the TA Cup allows single-builder tube-frame cars like those from CEI to compete in both the Trans Am National Championship's Pick 6 Challenge and Western events. The cars feature full tube chassis, five-star TA2-style bodies, Trans Am Cup aero enhancements, and Pirelli P ZERO slicks, all meticulously assembled for precision and durability.
Chris Evans Inc. continues to offer full rental programs, car sales, and support for single races or full-season campaigns. For more information on the TA Cup cars, availability, or partnership opportunities, visit www.ceirace.com or follow @chrisevansracecars on Instagram.
